A pioneer, a mentor and an inspiration for most of the DJs playing around the world since the past 30 years, a person fully dedicated to sound and able to share one of the most amazing party ever back in the ’70s. These are the words from of the most influential people in the music industry as Nicky Siano, Jellybean Benitez, Antonio Ocasio, Francois K, Tony Humphries, Louie Vega….

Why David Mancuso, you’ll ask me?

Simply because without him, everything which is related to the dance/club scene now wouldn’t exist. His party “Love Saves The Days” hosted in his legendary Loft in New York, became in these years the most unbelievable musical experience ever and introduced the fundamental of what will be created a few years later with The Gallery and the Paradise Garage.

The most important aspect of these parties, first of all, was a perfect sound system. Richard Long, designers of dance-club sound systems, helped him to create what one of the best back then. Powerful enough but not much and really clear. Secondly, David was not mixing but playing music one track after the other and creating a feeling and energy inside the room words can unfortunately not describe.

The rest is history!

The podcast I’ve done is kind of tribute to David Mancuso. I hope you’ll enjoy it in the same way I do.
