FKA Mash catches up with Chino Vv in Qatar

When the news arrived that the man from Soweto was going to be touching down in Doha, Qatar, to play at Manko Logo, we sent Chino down to meet up with Fka MASH to talk about his experience in Qatar and what we can look forward to next.
South African producer and DJ Fka MASH has been rising since his debut release in 2011. Following his release on Sondela Recordings, a track entitled BumbleBee with Sio earlier this year, MASH has been featured on a number of global podcasting platforms, including Keinemusik Radio show and OVO sound radio.
Here is what MASH had to say about performing in the Middle East for the first time
1) How did you feel when you first got booked to play in Doha, Qatar at Manko and what were you looking forward to seeing in Qatar?
I felt quite anxious as I'm not used to playing that much outside of South Africa. Leaving my homeland always leaves me in a state of constant anxiety. I just never know what to expect on the other side until I land. I guess I'll have to get used to it. I was looking forward to experiencing the lifestyle and culture and, most importantly, the people of Qatar.
I Loved the food here.
2) How did you find playing to the Doha crowd and what 2 or 3 tracks over the 3 days did you feel got the most love
Every time I have to leave South Africa, I wonder if I'll be able to deliver where I'm going, which then gets put to rest once I catch the vibe of the place I'm visiting. Turns out great. Thankfully.

3) Would you come back to Doha & the Middle East to Dj again?
I would come back a hundred times over. Playing to different crowds has been very exciting, and I enjoyed the Qatar crowd.

4) What can we expect from you in 2023, and can we expect any more FKA bangers in the near future?
Music definitely. More special moments all around the world. We will also release more music under different labels and September Bloom.
5) where is the best place to catch a vibe in South Africa for anyone in Qatar?
Loosely put - if you're into House Music, East Rand and Braamfontein got you, Cape Town too. If you're into Gqom, head to Durban, you'll hear the finest Gqom upon landing. If you looking for Amapiano, Alexandra, Soweto, and the East Rand got you as well. Afro House? Head to Jozi as well. South Africa is a melting pot of Dance music, and every corner has some form of dance music pumping. You'll have to follow the music to find what you like specifically.
