REECE BROOKS IN THE TRUE ESSENCE OF THE WORD IS A PROFOUND MUSICAL EXPRESSIONIST.
The Vinyl Vandals welcomes Reece Brooks representing South Africa, who is integral to the music scene and culture in Port Elizabeth and surrounding areas. .
A highly motivated, energetic, enthusiastic DJ, whose career began at the age of 15. Self-taught with the basics and techniques of mixing, looping breaks and beats, developing a commercial but more underground style over the years. This has given the necessary exposure and the opportunity to play at well-renowned gigs, residencies and venues within South Africa as well as in the Middle East.
From July 2013 to August 2014, he was resident DJ for two of Dubai’s very popular nights, namely, ‘Homegrown’ at 360 Jumeirah as well as Time Out Middle East’s 2013/2014 highly commended best house night ‘House Of Afrika’ Media 1 Hotel.
His speciality, House Music (soul, funk, afro, deep tech) has helped him play alongside some of the worlds best DJ’s / producers such as; Stimming, Osunlade, Black Coffee, Boddhi Satva, Jullian Gomes, Goldfish, Mike Steva, JoJo Flores, Mi Casa, Black Motion & Afroboogie to name a few.
Residing back in the Mother Land (South Africa), he joins forces with the most sort after musicians, artists, event companies, expressionists, photographers and videographers that SA has to offer, connecting with the most passionate, most musically literate and socially accepted in the industry.
He has also created some authentic brands within Nelson Mandela Bay region and has hosted the most stylish & fashionable event in the East Coast, Fused Sunset x SOULDEEP.
